Andrés Sheikh is a sophomore at UC Berkeley, currently perusing a Political Science major degree. He enjoys following up on worldwide current events. His possible future occupations range from a fireman, organic farmer, politician, amnesty international employee or something of that sort, or work on international business in South America. He loves to travel and has been to places such as México, Nicaragua, Israel/Palestine, and plans on studying abroad in Chile senior year. He is a big fan of fútbol, rugby, and everyday bike riding. He really enjoys ASAMST 128AC, not only because it teaches him about the history of Muslim Americans, but also it helps him understand himself as well.
Hosna Zarabi
Hosna Zarabi is a third year at UC Berkeley, majoring in Political Science along with a possible minor in Middle-Eastern Studies. After obtaining her bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, she plans on furthering her education by pursuing a Master's and hopefully going to law school. Although she is from Fremont California, she was born in Kabul Afghanistan and she plans on returning back to Afghanistan one day in hopes of helping out her country. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, socializing with friends, and watching basketball. She plans on doing a semester abroad next fall in either Turkey or Spain. She took ASAMST 128AC not only because of all the wonderful things she had heard about Professor Bazian but because she was genuinely interested in learning about Muslims and all that they've been through in the course of American history.
Rim Berhane
Rim Berhane is currently a Junior at UC Berkeley’s Haas
School of Business. He is originally from Eritrea in East Africa but grew up in
Gothenburg, Sweden. Sweden is in Europe so he got the chance to travel a lot
and has been to over 20 different countries. He loves to watch movies and TV
shows all day. If he ever gets a chance to Rim will intern at Deloitte &
Touche LLP during the summer and hopefully can continue a career in Accounting.
This profession is nice since it provides an insight to different companies in
various industries which will hopefully make him smarter. He took the Muslims
in America class since he grew up with Palestinians and wanted to get a closer
look at their religious background.
